But some of her most important work has been walking alongside women who are healing from abuse and trauma, a journey she has walked herself. In particular, she finds great joy in helping women write out their stories and unearth the buried strands of grace, beauty, and grit. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Claire now lives with her family in the mountains west of Phoenix.

On may 16,2012 the decision was made to step out of the problem and into the solution. Aleah found her footing in the walls of AA and the community it provided.
After 15 years being an event planner which went hand and hand with her addiction, she felt a bigger pull and purpose to her life.
Having a renewed zest for life, Aleah embarked on the Behavioral Health industry in 2015. The journey of recovery has afforded her the tools to use her past as an asset to help others and give back to the recovery community.

During her tenure as a college educator, administrator and Dean of Academic Affairs, Jo has dedicated over 30 years to working with incarcerated men and women. On her own educational journey culminating with a Ph.D. in Education, she focused on research to understand the meaning of the post-secondary college experience for women during incarceration. She has collaborated in the development of courses designed for those returning to their communities, authored and co-authored published articles about incarceration and reentry with emphasis on female’s experiences, and participated as a keynote speaker at numerous conferences as a subject matter expert. She has been asked to serve on multiple boards including an appointment to the Governor’s Task Force on Offender Reentry in 2005. She is currently serving on the ADCRR Director’s Advisory Committee.
“In my career and as a researcher, my work has led me to strongly believe that the caring nature of the learning environment in the prison setting and beyond is paramount to women’s ability to trust, focus, and gain confidence in their capacity for learning. I am convinced that their successful reintegration is linked to that environment. Through the learning process, they begin to know themselves as learners and through the roadblocks they encounter, they strengthen their self-perceptions and their views of the world around them.”

"I, for a long time, did not know my value. I was not able to see my worth. Though I was loved and people tried to pour into me, I was not able connect to my inherent value.
I know first hand the damage we can cause when we are disconnected from our value and worth. I want to be a part of building a place that pours into others, helps them to rebuild their life and know their inherent worth."
